review...
Created in a similar manner to the QSO release, the Region 5 project (which
for some reason was named after Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Hymnen")
pilfered fragments of obscure synthesizer recordings, library records, and
occasionally some Casio keyboard sounds by ourselves. As we had a varispeed
turntable, almost nothing was sampled at the right speed! Some of it was also
looped, tape spliced, used backwards, etc. So, if you think you recognise
something, it could be. Or maybe we used it because that's what it sounds
like.
Later, deciding some of what we had
used was actually too obvious, we only selected the tracks asterisked above
when compiling the Auricle Archive Region
5 release. So, no chance of us reissuing the actual cassette, as the
Archive release adds up to the choice "best of" selection from both
Region 5 releases.
