The final ZBB release of the 1980s. This had some left-overs from the
«Cortex!» sessions in 1984, plus what we deemed excellent from the last
session in 1986.
At this time Nigel was doing some
globe trotting, visiting far away places, and we didn't see him so much for a
while. We'd also moved to a streetside terrace house with not so favourable
conditions for recording. We also had plans to start up Ultima Thule. So ZBB
was laid to rest for almost two decades, during which time Nigel had got
married and moved to Japan.
In 1999 we issued our favourite ZBB
album «Cortex!» on CD, and included the A-side
of this tape "Out Of The Ashes" as a bonus track. Later, when we
started to issue CDR releases, we included the 3 remaining tracks on the
Auricle Archive release Cold Smoke. Thus,
this release itself is now redundant, and is included here for historical
reference only.
