review...
Ever since I first got this tape I always pictured in my mind that hilarious
comic strip in Audion magazine. Of course AMA II were not Auto-Kranial, they
were not "Kraut-rock legends" but an obscure new incarnation of the
band formerly known as AMA (from Yorkshire, featuring two members of Rancid
Poultry).
Now AMA II with a new member: one Alan Dawson, and with a new concept: all
basses (no lead guitar) they unleashed what was their craziest and heaviest
release ever. But this was no normal heavy rock, but pure self-indulgent
excessive jamming, which is no bad thing - and is almost certainly the reason
for the original cover art and questionable track titles! Fans of old Guru
Guru, Spacebox, Faust and Nekropolis take note. Turn the volume up and let
rip!
