Space-rock, prog, psych and cosmic musics compilation. "Escape From The Cage" series. A continuation from the
concept of the "A Cage Went In Search Of A Bird" set, this series
of releases explores 3 different facets of new-music. All are unique
commissioned recordings (including rarities), by some of the leading pioneers
around, and some much lesser-known obscure artists. All are great value for
money! A
snapshot of the independent/underground experimental rock scene in the late
1980's by Auricle artists and other friends. Including: early echo guitar
experiments of Dean Carter (encouraged by us to develop his
"Psychomuzak" project), an eclectic number by the Krautrock echo
guitar whiz Günter Schickert, and also a rare track by him with the Berlin
supergroup No Zen. Two faces of American prog are represented by Djam Karet
(untypically first, with a guest sax player) and also with a couple of demos
by the too short-lived Ken Moore Group. The British psychedelic underground
is represented by the Yorkshire (interrelated) bands AMA and Rancid Poultry,
with our own Alto Stratus synth ditty being a notable nod to Pink Floyd.
Closing the album, are the Norwegian maestros of ethno-psychedelic Krautrock,
the trippy Tangled Edge. Produced
